Truly Wonderful describes the weekend Mick Channon enjoyed and his filly of the same name can keep the run going on only her second venture into nursery company, with Who's Winning and Stamford Blue others to consider. Truly Wonderful was dropped back in trip for the second time when winning at Sandown in July, but since then has been kept to six furlongs. On breeding you would think that is what she wants, but at this stage of her development it clearly is as far as she wants to go, so this half-furlong less trip will suit the daughter of Highest Honor. Beaten in a close finish on her nursery bow at Warwick, a return to the winner's enclosure looks imminent. Who's Winning made a winning debut at Folkestone in April and judged on recent efforts at Goodwood and Newmarket, is a nursery winner waiting to happen. The concession of four pounds to Truly Wonderful may be too much for Chris Dwyer's gelding though and he may have to settle for a place. Stamford Blue is lightly raced and is probably better than her Windsor selling victory indicates, while Danzig River is the sort to follow over slightly further in time. Brian Meehan is in form so Knight On the Tiles should not be ruled out entirely either, but Truly Wonderful must go close and is the pick to keep the Channon machine running.
