In depth

Verdict

Aryal put an erratic campaign behind him when seemingly appreciative of the drop to 1m2f at Beverley a week ago and is a leading contender on that evidence for Mark Johnston under a 6lb penalty. In contrast, JACOB CATS, who also totes a 6lb penalty, seemed to relish the step-up in trip at Chepstow eight days ago, landing an ordinary handicap for the track with the minimum of fuss. With little between the pair on ratings, William Knight's charge may just offer better value in what's likely to prove a tactical affair. Course and distance winner Sheila's Buddy sports a first-time hood, having found winning tough since his last success in the all-weather winter campaign of 2012. Heezararity caused a shock when obliging at Windsor in April but hasn't been seen since and needs to improve again to trouble the top two in the weights.
