In depth

Verdict

Glyn Ceiriog didn't manage a win on the Flat for George Baker but was placed in five of his 10 starts. On the evidence of his debut second at Uttoxeter, he's going to enjoy more success over hurdles and Jason Maguire's presence on stablemate Benjamin Bittern is probably down to the fact that he can't do the weight on the four-year-old. But we just prefer DRUM VALLEY, who made a very promising start over timber behind the potentially-useful Hold Court at Ludlow and will know more today. He has the beating of Mickie on that run. Like Benjamin Bittern, Favoured Nation is also a bumper winner but has disappointed in two runs so far over hurdles.
