Verdict

STACCATO VALTAT has won two out of three over course and distance, including this last year and 12 months earlier. It's probable that he's been trained with the race in mind again and a hat-trick looks on, despite the lack of a recent run. Teochew is starting to look well treated while Master Butcher has place claims again. Gold Ingot tries 3m for the first time but should last home and Decimus won over 2m7f at Stratford last month and is only 4lb higher. Midnight Oscar only found the prolific Solstice Son too good at Chepstow last time but Welsh Bard appears to have lost his way.
