Verdict

Activate has been running well enough over shorter trips although he has a bit to find with Schmooze on earlier running at Hamilton. The latter also beat today's rival A SOUTHSIDE BOY at the same track in June but Jim Goldie's charge doesn't have much ground to make up and gets the vote as he's expected to be more at home in the likely soft going. The trip and ground are both new to Beat The Tide but it would be no surprise if the son of Black Sam Bellamy proved suited to the conditions and he makes most appeal of the remainder.
