The drop back to this trip and a mark of just 57 may be enough to see VOLCANIC ASH get his nose in front for the first time. Mark Johnston's colt was going the right way over this trip but finished well beaten when tried over seven furlongs at Newmarket last time, when he faded inside the final furlong. The assessor appears to have given him a chance for his nursery debut and we will side with him. Eilean Mor looks a threat after going close on his first try in this company and the step up in trip may elicit further improvement.
