        Verdict

        RESIDENCY is modest though as a relatively consistent character, he has fewer negatives than most in division one of the seven furlong handicap. Mr Lu is a course-and-distance scorer who has to be respected with Paul Hanagan aboard. His trainer, Jim Goldie won this event last year. Maxwell Hawke has dropped significantly down the weights and if the reapplication of a tongue-strap works - he cannot be ruled out. Hosanna seems almost a placepot banker around Ayr such is his consistency over course and distance. Spin Again's better form is in small fields where he is better able to dominate proceedings.
