      Verdict

Mixed Blessing has not done a great deal wrong but the Alan Jarvis-trained filly faces no easy task under her penalty and preference is for Violette, who gets the vote ahead of Strut. The last mentioned was found wanting in the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes at Newmarket last time but has solid claims on earlier form and has to be respected. Queen of Fire has not progressed as much as may have been expected and of more interest may be Clare Hills, particularly if any rain arrives. Dixie Belle had little chance behind the classy Flashy Wings in the Lowther last time, while Choysia finished last behind Mick Channon's star filly in the Queen Mary and is probably best watched. Richard Hannon's Catspraddle is unexposed but needs to improve but preference is for Violette, who is progressing well and is taken to confirm Doncaster form with Gallery Girl and complete a hat-trick.
