Verdict

EASBY PARK is worth a shot in this company and gets the nod ahead of Percutant, Dancing Dik and Description. The last named has been in great form since the turn of the year - winning his last three starts in good style. However, he has also been raised 31lbs in the handicap and, judging by what he has actually achieved, he now faces a stiff test. A similar statement applies to Dancing Dik, who got off the mark over hurdles in a maiden at Wetherby in the middle of last month. He then confirmed his well being by following up at Newcastle a fortnight later. However, Dancing Dik not only tackles stiffer opposition but also has to prove his stamina over an extra half mile today. Therefore, he looks vulnerable on this occasion. Percutant is another whose claims are backed up by solid form figures and the lightly raced gelding may have plenty more to offer. He stays well and, as the ground should not be too much of a problem, he is a worthy alternative to the selection. However, Easby Park has a consistent profile and, as he is likely to be available at reasonable odds, the George Moore-trained gelding just edges the vote as a better betting proposition this time.
