A trappy affair in which Auenmoon is nominated in preference to Hawkit and Little Bob. Auenmoon is better known as a hurdler these days but he has some solid form in German handicaps and has handled the surface during his previous tenure. There is every reason to suggest that he could be well treated here. Hawkit has been round the block as far as switching stables is concerned and Peter Monteith is now responsible for the five-year-old. A winner of a seller on his latest start, he is prone to swallowing his tongue so will invariably be a risky betting proposition. Little Bob is proven on the surface and is surely much better than his recent form suggests. Pab Special won over eight furlongs on soft going at Ripon and should not be too readily discounted. The Osteopath has yet to conclusively prove that he stays this trip but has fewer negatives on his card than most. King's Jester is watched in the market as John Lambe's runners invariably run well when supported and the four-year-old did win on a softer surface when trained in France. Dispol Foxtrot may still need the run after a long period of absence. Auenmoon secures the vote.
