Verdict

Richard Fahey, enjoying a good season with juveniles, is doubly represented with jockey bookings pinpointing New Street as the stable preferred after the Acclamation colt finished second, albeit beaten seven lengths, by Somewhat on debut. The latter went straight to Royal Ascot from that run only to disappoint when strongly fancied so the jury is out regarding the form. Lyn Valley hasn't been seen since coming home fourth of six behind Withernsea on debut in early May and SIR JACK LAYDEN makes greater appeal. The Brown inmate was a respectable seventh of 19 behind Berkshire in the Chesham Stakes at the royal meeting, having previously hunted up a useful Hannon newcomer at Haydock. That form looks solid and this rates a more straightforward assignment.
