      In depth

      Verdict

Bow Badger is an obvious player after a solid first effort at Carlisle, however he already shapes as if needing two miles and so we prefer the claims of WRONGWAYROUND. Alan Swinbank's Barathea gelding went quite a long way for his debut at Warwick but could only manage a one-paced fifth. However this longer straight and more testing track should play to his strengths and he is fancied to come on both physically and mentally for that first outing. Zaru represents a trainer in good form so needs a market check, along with College Quest whose trainer does well here, and Santiago Boy for whom Graham Lee looks an interesting jockey booking. Narap is bred for speed so despite being related to some stout stayers he could feature here over this trip, whilst Darna and Sir Brian are both stoutly-bred and are likely to need a stiffer test of stamina in time. Mr Windmill is yet another to consider, however the biggest threat is Bow Badger. He holds a few of these on their run behind Royal Swain at Carlisle where he faded late on having made most of the running. Likely to improve for that he is obviously considered, however we are happy to chance our arm with Wrongwayround.
