In depth

Verdict

BLENHEIM BROOK opened his account over hurdles with victory in a novices' event at Hexham on his latest start. He looks on a fair mark for his handicap debut and, with further progress likely, Lucinda Russell's hurdler can bag this contest - he's preferred to stablemate Quacity. The application of a tongue-tie did the trick for Sheriff Hall when he scored at Musselburgh recently and there should be more to come from him now, and Rain Stops Play will appreciate the shorter trip having travelled well for a long way over 2m4f at Wetherby last time.
