Verdict

In a competitive finale, Minella Tipperary gets the call ahead of Saddlers Cloth and Earnest. Starting at the top of the weights and Hill Fort Timmy's Taunton run over a shorter trip last time from a two-pounds lower mark affords him respect today. It was a promising effort from The King Of Angels to win a novice event over two-and-a-half miles last time and he has to be respected too. Minella Tipperary was disappointing on soft going last time but had looked decent prior to that and should not be written off just yet; he's far too lightly raced for that. Krismas Kracker is frustrating in that he has plenty of ability and travels well, but his finishing kick sometimes lacks fizz, although maybe today's longer trip will help him. Lothian Falcon ended last season on a high and has continued in that vein this season; he too is respected, while the form of Saddlers Cloth's third to Rosita Bay last time looks pretty solid and, lightly raced, we reckon he can play his part today. Raised four pounds for his Huntingdon win, Delightful Cliche still has to be given some thought, as does Earnest, who has been raised five pounds for a very solid Worcester effort and who could improve again for the step up in trip. Finally, Lord Of Adventure would hold claims on his form of a year ago but, for the selection, we will stick with Minella Tipperary.
