Verdict

Impeller can get back to winning ways at the expense of Divine Gift, Layazaal and Desert Realm to name but three. Impeller struck form at Epsom recently, cruising to the front a furlong out before scoring with a shade in hand. He then turned out just two days later in the John Smith's Cup at York but made no show, and it may be that he had failed to recover in time. Given a little break since, and in this smaller field, we take him to bounce back. Divine Gift was a few places ahead of the selection at York and had earlier won well enough at Chester. In truth there should be little between the pair here, and Kevin Ryan's charge rates the main danger. Layazaal won at Goodwood in what was a close finish before making no show in the Britannia at Royal Ascot and he is another that bids to put a poor latest effort to rest, while Desert Realm definitely needs to improve to figure, but hails from an in-form stable. In a trappy affair to end the day, it is Impeller that gets the vote.
