Verdict

MAUREEN was one of the eye-catchers of the Newmarket July meeting when just failing to reel in Sendmylovetorose in the Group 2 Cherry Hinton Stakes, having not enjoyed the smoothest of passages prior to her late thrust. She had previously won a modest affair at Newbury on debut with her head in her chest and can gain early compensation for that Newmarket defeat with a Group success of her own. Hoyam beat nothing of note to break her maiden at Windsor last time but her runner-up effort in the Queen Mary Stakes at the Royal meeting marks her down as the main danger to the Hannon filly. She should handle this first attempt at 6f whilst Badr Al Badoor, impressive on her Doncaster debut, and Sandreamer, placed in Listed grade latest, are also of interest.
