Verdict

The market will tell us a lot with regard to relative fitness levels but OUR JONATHAN is the call without reference to it, ahead of Iver Bridge Lad and Mon Cadeaux. Kevin Ryan's charge improved throughout the course of last season and completed a fine set of figures with victory in a French Group 2. He seems to act on pretty much any surface and can make full use of this drop in class. Iver Bridge Lad had enough speed to be placed in the Cornwallis Stakes last season. Connections appear to have abandoned the idea of him becoming a seven furlong performer. Mon Cadeaux sees William Buick reunited with old boss, Andrew Balding. He finished off last season with a solid success at Salisbury and gave the impression that there was further improvement to come. Ed McMahon isn't one to tilt at windmills so the presence of Shearman is very interesting. A winner of a weak six furlong contest at Wolverhampton on debut, he must have shown something at home for connections to entertain the idea of shelling out a sizeable entry fee for this contest. Absolute Music was well turned over in the Dubai Carnival and might be best watched at present. Our Jonathan had a progressive profile and if training on, should be the one to beat.
