Verdict

MAHADEE is the nomination to land the finale on today's card, with Craigstown and Sleepy Hollow others on the short list. The selection ran on well to score over 10f on fast ground at Lingfield last time and a 4lb rise is not too taxing. Pedigree suggests that Saeed Manana's gelding will have the stamina for this extra quarter of a mile, so we'll side with him. Craigstown on the other hand might not get home if the bloodlines are anything to go by. The Godolphin gelding landed a 10f Salisbury maiden last time and makes his handicap debut from the 5lb higher mark of 82. Deadly Silence may well appreciate this extra test and can go well, Any Given Day looks too high in the weights now while Sleepy Hollow's run last time was too bad to be true and the return to 1m 4f will be a big plus. The break will hopefully have done him the world of good. A very tough race where there would be no major surprise to see any of the eight get home in front.
