Verdict

CANDELA BAY is the one open to the most improvement and is worth a speculative throw of the dice in the finale. Sudden Impact is in great heart just now and is also respected, while Autumn Blades and Fathermost can go close if in the mood to do so. Fathermost has been the model of consistency and is thriving on being kept busy. However, he is also rising up the weights and now has a bit extra to find at this level. Autumn Blades has won his last two starts in good style but the handicapper has given him a chance from just a 4lb higher mark today. Richard Quinn knows him well and, with the ground not expected to be a problem, the son of Daggers Drawn can be expected to be on the premises if he copes with drop back in trip. Sudden Impact on the other hand is a specialist sprinter who deserves a change of fortune. She is versatile regarding the ground and can give the selection plenty to think about. However, Candela Bay was very impressive when burning off her rivals at Salisbury last month and, as a filly in form, she should be followed accordingly. The booking of Ryan Moore has its obvious merits and Candela Bay can prove to be another ideal partner for this season's leading rider.
