      Verdict

Pride of Nation missed Wednesday's Royal Hunt Cup because the ground was considered too quick and, unless it rains, he looks worth taking on here with preference for Song of Passion who gets the vote ahead of King of Argos. The last mentioned has only gone up 3lbs for his win at Goodwood last time and has solid claims at the weights but he does not look to be favourably drawn on the near side and may be best watched. Wise Dennis is similarly drawn but would prefer a softer surface, while Black Charmer has more to do than when winning at Sandown last time. South Cape looks to be going the right way but may be better over a furlong less, while Paul Cole's Eisteddfod is another that would probably want the rain to arrive. There are no such concerns for the lightly raced Song of Passion who is taken to continue his progression.
