Verdict

Warsaw can land the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at the main expense of Winker Watson and Spirit of Sharjah. This son of Danehill Dancer from the Aiden O'Brien yard won a maiden at Leopardstown on his debut and then ran out a convincing winner in a Listed stakes race at the Curragh last time. The manner of that success suggests he could have a big future ahead of him and with no ground or draw worries he should take plenty of beating. Winker Watson hails from the Peter Chapple-Hyam yard and the manner of his debut success at Newbury marked him down as a horse with Royal Ascot potential. He could be anything but this is a steep climb in grade for him and he still has it all to prove. Spirit Of Sharjah could not have been any more impressive on his debut at Newmarket and he followed that up with a smooth success at Goodwood last time when he beat Baytown Blaze. He relishes fast ground and if it continues to dry out and gets even quicker then that would boost his chance. Strike The Deal is from a yard in cracking form and he made a pleasing introduction at Lingfield when he won as he pleased. However, he has much more on his plate today and he will need to show considerable improvement if he is to make his mark against these rivals. Art Advisor won well at Carlisle last time but that did not look the strongest of maidens and he may find this company a bit too hot. A cracking start to Day Three of Royal Ascot and the vote is given to Warsaw.
