Verdict

Irish Saint was odds-on for a Grade 1 over 2m at Sandown two weeks ago but was never really travelling and got left behind on the turn for home. The extra yardage might help but he might be one to be wary of now. Grand Vision was well beaten at Uttoxeter having fallen on his chasing bow and also has questions to answer but the longer trip will definitely suit Thomas Crapper, who has taken well to fences, and he's preferred to Cheltenham third Drop Out Joe, who needs further and doesn't look good enough at this level. PUFFIN BILLY (NAP) was a bit novicey when third to Dunraven Storm and Far West at Exeter but much more fluent when making all over a slightly shorter trip here last month. He looks a high-class recruit and could be too slick for these if allowed his own way out in front.
