Amerigo disappointed in a competitive handicap at Haydock last month but Michael Jarvis has his string in better form now so he has to be respected over a trip that may bring about further improvement but it is hard to get away from CARACCIOLA, who gets the verdict with Bulwark rated the pick of the remainder. The selection should have no problems with the trip having stayed on well when winning the Cesarewitch last season and coming here fresh from his recent success in a Listed race at York, Nicky Henderson's gelding looks the one they all have to beat. Richard Fahey's Halla San is strictly held by the selection on York running and would probably prefer a bit of cut on the ground. Tyrrells Wood is in good form but needs to improve to trouble the judge and of more interest may be another Nicky Henderson inmate, Tasheba, who has shown improved form over hurdles of late. Bulwark was outclassed behind Geordieland in the Henry II last time and may do better here but Caracciola has solid claims and he gets the vote.
