Verdict

Three of these trainers have returned the last 10 winners between them. Mark Johnston leads that trio with five successes but Vive Ma Fille and Yorkidding need to reverse recent Musselburgh running with Tommy Docc over this longer trip. Sir Michael Stoute last won this in 2012 with top-class stayer Estimate so Yarrow is expected to relish the longer trip after winning her maiden in good style at Leicester. But Aidan O'Brien can include St Leger hero Leading Light among his previous winners and ALOFT looks the one to beat in this year's renewal. A runner-up in the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy in October, the Galileo colt is clear at the weights and should have too much class for these. Great Glen ran well in Listed company at Goodwood and Future Empire failed to handle the track in the Chester Vase so better is expected here. Antiquarium is on a roll but steps up in class as does the selection's stablemate Bantry Bay and winning handicapper Fabricate. Game Set Dash has only won a maiden but Ger Lyons also has him in the Irish Derby so he's obviously held in high regard.
