Verdict

John Gosden and Jimmy Fortune teamed up for victory last year with Michita and a repeat performance is anticipated with TAKE THE HINT; we will, siding against the well-touted Leocorno and the progressive Flying Cloud. The selection has won her last two starts, most recently the Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket. That was her first run of the season and it was evident that she had flourished over the winter and will be a force to be reckoned with this season. The step up in trip should not worry this daughter of Montjeu and a big run is expected. Flying Cloud has her first run for Godolphin today which normally means she'll finish towards the rear; however joking aside she has shown in two French wins that she is a horse of some potential who is already racing at a very high standard. Leocorno was touted as an Oaks filly so it was surprising that trainer Sir Michael Stoute decided to miss Epsom; it may be a telling pointer to her chances today that she has been saved for this assignment and there is still lots more to come from this half-sister to Golan and Tartan Bearer. Mooakada should put up a bold show; this stablemate of Take The Hint was not disgraced in defeat last time and the winner has since franked the form. If she comes on from that first run of the year as she is expected to then she could play a big part in the finish. Totally Devoted doesn't look the best filly ever sent across from Ballydoyle and hopes will be pinned on this better ground, whilst Uvinza and Anice Stellato look up against it. Of more interest are Flame Of Gibraltar and July Jasmine. The former represents the master trainer of fillies Henry Cecil, whilst July Jasmine has been brought into this race steadily under the shadow of stablemate Leocorno but cannot be underestimated after a fair second to Oaks runner-up Midday at Lingfield. This looks a very competitive renewal where we will Take The Hint.
