Verdict

Mark Johnston is mob-handed in this but Scatter Dice may struggle to overturn Goodwood form behind stablemate Sir Graham Wade with the unlucky-in-running Misdemeanour. Last Shadow slipped up in that race and will be looking for compensation here but Fennell Bay returns to the scene of his greatest triumph, in the King George V Stakes, and had PRUSSIAN behind when third to Grandeur over 1m2f at Goodwood. The latter was repeatedly denied a run in the closing stages that day, however, having got outpaced when the pace quickened on turning for home. He's certain to be suited by the extra 2f and can recoup losses here. Repeater faces a stiff task under top weight but Ahzeemah appears on the upgrade and is another who should appreciate 1m4f while Ruacana never seems to run a bad race. Sun Central is unexposed and preferred to Rule Book of the others.
