In depth

Verdict

Commando Scott has been recommended by this tipster before and we see no reason to oppose him now on his hat-trick bid, with Alderney Race and Khabfair likely to emerge as the main dangers. Commando Scott is in cracking form and goes particularly well with cut in the ground, as evidenced from his recent soft ground successes at Haydock and Doncaster. This is his optimum trip, and despite the inevitable rise in the weights that success brings, he does not look like he has stopped winning and can bridge this jump in class. Khabfair may give him most to do. Amanda Perrett's yard have finally found their form of late and the Intikhab colt relishes this trip, though he does have to prove he acts on the ground, but he can still go very well. Of the others, recent Newmarket scorer Alderney Edge is progressing steadily and is still fairly treated, so with some soft ground form on the board as well, there is every reason to think that he will figure at the business end, but Commando Scott is in superb form and looks best suited by conditions here.
