Verdict

The Topham Chase will be run on the national course and the finish will hopefully be contested by ALWAYS WAINING, Offshore Account and Private Be, with the first named getting the vote. Peter Bowen's charge finished fourth in last years event and now runs from a 12 pound better mark. He had a great chance of winning last year's race but for blundering two out but in the main, remains a solid jumper. His previous course experience should stand him in good stead and can go close at a very big price. The Irish raider, Offshore Account, should also be noted. He ran very well for along way in last years national, only to find the extreme trip a step too far. With previous experience and today's trip more suitable, he has a big chance. Private Be has been ultra consistent all year and like the above two, has vital course experience. He was fourth in this race last year and can run another big race but it must be noted that he is worse off in the weights with the selection. Others to consider for this tricky affair include Pak Jack, Qhilmer and Battlecry but Always Waining is the selection.
