Mike de Kock: Trained the first and third
Vercingetorix retained his unbeaten record with victory in the Group One Jebel Hatta Sponsored By Emirates Airline at Meydan.
Mike de Kock's five-year-old was settled in behind the front-running stablemate Anaerobio from his low draw and was always travelling comfortably under Christophe Soumillon.
Pat Cosgrave opted to move off the fence as he took the field into the straight allowing the stable's better fancied runner a smooth run through against the rail and Soumillon took full advantage.
The Silvano entire didn't kick clear as had looked likely at one stage but the result never looked in doubt as he came clear of his stable companion who was just run out of second by Vancouverite while Trade Storm flashed home from the rear to finish just outside the places.
"The horse was quite nervous. In the gate he was moving a lot. I was a bit scared he might hurt himself, but finally he jumped out quite well," said Soumillon.
"Anaerobio was out there in front and made a good pace for us. It was a great result for the team as we have all been working hard for that."
De Kock added: "He is a very useful horse but it is hard to know just how good because he only ever does enough. In all his races he has travelled really well and gone to the front easily before quickening.
"He then tends to stop and wait for some company - as Christophe discovered last time. It is great to win a Group 1 here with him and the Dubai Duty Free is the obvious target.
"He did not take the travel and quarantine well and we are delighted to have him back at his best."
