Russian Soul (r): Wins the Renaissance Stakes

Russian Soul (7/1) just got the verdict in a tremendous four-way finish to the Newbridge Grassroots Festival Renaissance Stakes at the Curragh.

The order barely changed thoughout the six-furlong Group Three, with Michael Halford's five-year-old sticking to the rail under Shane Foley, flanked by 7/2 favourite Artistic Jewel, Farmleigh House and Scream Blue Murder.

That is the way it finished, with nothing between them as they flashed past the line in a row and a nose being the winning margin.

Halford said: "Shane said he really stuck his neck out. "Having the rail was definitely a help and he really deserved it. As sprinters go he is a model of consistency and he gives his best every day.

"We will give him a break now to freshen him up and he'll go back to Dubai."
