Denis O'Regan: Rode Sea Lord to victory at Market Rasen
Sea Lord ran out a ready winner of the Betfred Mobile Lotto Summer Hurdle at Market Rasen.
The race was predictably staged at a furious pace with confirmed front runners Baccalaureate and Australia Day took them along, and the pair succeeded in only cancelling each other out.
As the he two joint-favourites began to make their move before the penultimate flight, Tony McCoy appeared to be sitting confidently on Coffee but he had no answer to the sheer flat speed of the John Ferguson-trained six-year-old, and Denis O' Regan had the luxury of being able to coast home as his rival struggled to keep tabs on the winner.
The pair finished well clear of Roman Flight in third.
O'Regan said: "He is very genuine, has a touch of class, and has been very well campaigned. They went very quick, which helped, and he travelled very well.
"He's hit a flat spot in his previous races but was a different gear this time. It's a very special win for the yard and for John. This means much more (than previous Summer Hurdle winners) because it was for John."
