Willie Martinez after winning on Trinniberg
Trinniberg had power and pace in equal measure to win the Xpressbet Breeders' Cup Sprint at Santa Anita.
The Shivananda Parbhoo-trained three-year-old refused to give Sum Of The Parts an easy lead before usurping that rival at the top of the stretch.
Jockey Willie Martinez needed to keep up to his work, however, as The Lumber Guy stayed on gamely for second spot.
Smiling Tiger was third.
Martinez said: "He's very tactical, very quick.
"He's just an amazing animal.
"In the three-year-old sprint division he's been dominant."
Parbhoo said: "I felt real good when they turned for home.
"The blinkers worked well."
