Restless Harry: Would not be denied
Restless Harry gamely made all for victory in the Betfred Goals Galore Hurdle at Haydock.
Henry Oliver's mount never seems to run a bad race and showed tremendous determination in very testing conditions to hold off last year's winner Cross Kennon in the closing stages.
Favourite Featherbed Lane loomed into contention three out but made a mistake and started to tread water to leave the front two to fight out the finish.
It was a close call at the last but Restless Harry dug deepest to score admirably by five lengths.
"I've got a feeling Robin will be feeling a lot better after that," said trainer Robin Dickin's wife, Claire.
"He's at home watching the race in his chair and I'd imagine the neck brace was probably in a bit of danger coming up the run-in there!
"The horse is so brave and really battled well at the finish. We weren't worried about the ground and I'm absolutely thrilled with him.
"We didn't leave him in the World Hurdle - we're getting a bit sick of looking at Big Buck's' bottom!
"The Pertemps Final or the Coral Cup could be options for him, but we'll get him home and see how he is before making plans."
