More success for Gamilati.

More success for Gamilati.

Gamilati impressed with a facile victory in the UAE 1000 Guineas Trial Presented By Longines at Meydan on Friday.

Mahmood Al Zarooni's filly won the Cherry Hinton at Newmarket last season and further enhanced her claims for 1000 Guineas glory, both in the UAE and English versions with a visually impressive success.

Frankie Dettori was content to settle the 4-11 favourite at the back of the field in the early stages, but she made up her ground nicely turning for home in the seven furlong contest.

The daughter of Bernadini, who was conceding weight to her rivals, hit the front on the bridle with two furlongs to run and only had to be pushed out to score, with Alsindi (3-1) staying on to chase her home in the forecast spot.

Victor Chandler trimmed the winner to 25/1 (from 33s) for the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in May.

Sheikh Mohammed, head of the Godolphin operation, said: "It's very nice for Gamilati to come back and begin her year like that.

"She didn't have much time to prepare for this and it is a good start.

"I think that we will run her in the UAE 1,000 Guineas (February 3) and then save her for Europe because a mile is her distance - no more."

Al Zarooni told "I am very happy that. Gamilati had an easy race today and wasn't put under pressure.

"I don't think that the race will take a lot out of her and she should improve for her first start of the year.

"Frankie gave her a clever ride and she should have no problem with the step up to a mile next month."
