Astracad gained a hardfought and emotional success
Astracad (11/4 favourite) just got up to beat Rileyev in the Jenny Mould Memorial Handicap Chase at Cheltenham.
Running in the colours of Raymond Mould, Nigel Twiston-Davies' horse was a fitting winner in the race named after the owner's late wife.
It didn't look likely with 100 yards to go as Venetia Williams' Rileyev powered up the inside to take it up from Astracad.
However, the winner showed great resolution to get back up and he was a head clear at the winning line.
Rileyev was second with Havingotascoobydo back in third.
Nigel Twiston-Davies said: "I'm absolutely delighted for the horse and myself. Jenny Mould was one of my first owner's ever so it was a race we badly wanted to win."
