William Buick: Rode Hunter's Light
Hunter's Light won the Listed Blue Square Churchill Stakes at Lingfield on Saturday.
Sent off a well-backed odds-on favourite, the Godolphin owned three year old had to work hard to get the better of Circumvent and Suits Me in the ten furlong contest.
William Buick soon had the son of Dubawi settled nicely in behind the lead with David Barron's veteran Suits Me adopting his usual position at the head of affairs.
It looked ominous for the opposition as Buick loomed large on the outside turning in but Saeed bin Suroor's colt failed to pull clear as had looked likely and had to fight all the way to the line.
He only scored by a short-head from Paul Cole's runner with a length and three quarters back to Suits Me who was squeezed up close home.
Clive Brittain's highly-tried maiden Maali was back in fourth.
