Spencer: Double delight at Doncaster
Jamie Spencer completed a Doncaster double aboard Club Oceanic in the DFS Handicap.
The jockey had to be at his strongest aboard the 10-3 chance who responded to his urgings to go to the front in the final 50 yards and score by a neck from 9-4 favourite Chain Lightning.
Sharaayen (9-2) was only a neck further adrift in third having tried to make all under Richard Hills.
Barry Simpson, racing manager for winning owner Sir Robert Ogden said: "We're really pleased with the effort, he might just step up a little bit from this - he could go into listed class next.
"He picked up well for Jamie (Spencer) and once he asked him for the effort he picked up extremely well and we were very pleased with it.
"He's in the Newbury race next Saturday (Dubai Duty Free Heritage Handicap) where he'll pick up a 4lb-penalty so we'll see how he comes out of the race. While he's in this form it could be a good opportunity."
