Roger Varian: Trains Sandown winner Nahrain
Roger Varian's Nahrain kept her unbeaten record intact and picked up some valuable black type with a taking performance in the Coral Distaff at Sandown on Saturday.
The Windsor maiden winner had followed up with an effortless victory in a Haydock handicap and took this step up to Listed class in her stride.
Neil Callan settled the 4-6 favourite in behind the pacesetters and once he pushed the button, the filly quickly put the race to bed.
Runner-up Primevere was a length and a half away at the line.
"She had a problem and we couldn't get her back into work properly until the spring, but she has looked quite smart in her work," said Varian.
"The ground was quick enough. There are no obvious targets, but we'll look forward to the rest of the year.
"We might get a bit ambitious in the autumn."
