Rajsaman provided an early boost for Freddie Head in the Group Two Prix Du Muguet at Saint Cloud ahead of Moonlight Cloud's run in the 1000 Guineas.
The four year old colt travelled strongly on the outside of Byword in first time blinkers and ran on well to land the spoils by about a length under Thierry Thulliez to gain a first success at this level.
Byword, last year's winner of the Prince Of Wales's Stakes, was giving the winner 7lbs and made a pleasing return to action over a trip short of his best and can be expected to improve for the run ahead of a possible return to Royal Ascot.
