The Betchworth Kid: Narrow winner at Nottingham
The Betchworth Kid got up on the line to pip Free Agent in the Further Flight Stakes at Nottingham.
Alan King's six-year-old was sent off at 8-1 under Hayley Turner, but the gelding still had plenty of ground to make up with a furlong to run.
However Turner got a good tune out of her partner and he put in a determined effort to get up on the line and collar Free Agent ridden by Ryan Moore.
Hot-favourite Free Agent (6-4) had mastered Askar Tau with 50 yards to run, but could do nothing about the storming late run of the winner.
Akmal took the field along for a fair way but was well-held in the end having raced quite freely, whilst Askar Tau travelled strongly and kicked on with a furlong to run but had no asnwer to the first two late on.
