Rizeena: Could run at Newbury

A workout at Newmarket on Tuesday morning will determine whether Rizeena takes her chance in the Dubai Duty Free Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.

Although trainer Clive Brittain would be unruffled by the filly running in the Qipco 1000 Guineas without the aid of a prep, a gameplan will not be formulated until after she is put through her paces at home.

Brittain said: "She'll work tomorrow and that will tell us if she needs a run or not.

"We've got the Fred Darling (Dubai Duty Free) as an option, but, at the same time, we wouldn't be bothered if she didn't have a prep before the Guineas if her work goes well.

"The ground should be OK for her at the weekend."

Rizeena is as low as 6-1 for the Guineas after a highly accomplished juvenile campaign yielded a Group One triumph in the National Stakes at the Curragh and a clutch of superb efforts in defeat.

Twenty-five horses have been confirmed for the Group Three over seven furlongs, including the likes of Joyeuse, Sandiva, Queen Catrine and Al Thakhira.

Euro Charline, Iveagh Gardens and Nirva have already won this year and are also in contention, while Cape Factor, Coral Mist and Dutch Courage would bring good form to the table.
