Wishfull Thinking: Currently tops weights in the Grand Sefton Chase

Wishfull Thinking heads 23 possibles for the Betfred Grand Sefton Chase at Aintree on Saturday.

The Philip Hobbs-trained 10-year-old has never run over the Grand National fences before and has been left at the head of the weights following the withdrawal of Champion Court.

Hobbs may also run Chance Du Roy, who finished second in the 2012 Topham.

Seabass, third to Neptune Collonges in the 2012 National, heads the Irish challenge for trainer Ted Walsh. Henry De Bromhead's You Must Know Me and the James Nash-trained Your Busy are the only two other remaining Irish entries.

Nicky Henderson has taken out Rajdhani Express but may run Roberto Goldback, although he is also in the Becher Chase on the same card.

Paul Nicholls has left in Rebel Rebellion and Current Event.

Donald McCain's Dunowen Point is likely to be a popular choice given his connections and last run behind subsequent Hennessy winner Triolo D'Alene in the Topham Chase in April.

"Dunowen Point will go in the Grand Sefton," said McCain.

"We've kept him back a bit, but the horses are starting to come through now. I wouldn't have minded getting a run into him somewhere I suppose, although he gets to run off the same mark as when he was fourth in the Topham.

"That doesn't look too bad now given the winner has gone and won the Hennessy, so I'm looking forward to it."

Shangani, Forgotten Gold and the improving Toby Lerone also remain.
