Diamond Harry: Returns at Wincanton in the Badger Ales Trophy this weekend
Connections of Diamond Harry are not expecting any fireworks when the high-class gelding returns in Saturday's Badger Ales Trophy at Wincanton.
Little has gone right for the Nick Williams-trained nine-year-old since his marquee victory in the 2010 Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury as he failed to show his old sparkle in four starts last season after a year on the sidelines.
Another minor setback forced him to miss an intended comeback run in last weekend's Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby.
Although he is now ready for a return to competitive action, Diamond Harry has plenty on his plate when conceding weight to each of his 12 rivals in Somerset.
Jane Williams, wife and assistant to the Devon handler, insists a clear round is the priority.
She said: "He's in good form. The main thing we want to see is he gets there and completes the course.
"He tweaked something last week so we couldn't take a chance and run him at Wetherby. He's ready to go now.
"It's obviously been frustrating with him but all is good at the moment."
