Cue Card: Hurdling debut

Cue Card will make his eagerly-awaited hurdling debut at Aintree on Sunday afternoon.

Colin Tizzard's charge won the Cheltenham Festival bumper last season and is a potential star over timber.

Connections have been waiting for some rain before unleashing him and the trainer believes the EBF Bestway "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle is the perfect opportunity to do so.

"It's our full intention to run and the rain has put the ground on the good to soft side, which sounds about right," said the trainer.

"His form in bumpers has to be the best in the land and, while not wanting to tempt fate, he seems to jump very well.

"It's a lovely course and this looks a good race to start off in."
