A review of the action from Ayr where Irish trainer-and-jockey combination Adrian Keatley and Sean Corby stole the show.

Irish trainer-and-jockey combination Adrian Keatley and Sean Corby stole the show at Ayr with two and three winners respectively at the Scottish circuit.

County Kildare handler Keatley enjoyed three victories from nine runners at the Scottish track during his debut season with a licence in 2014 and struck gold with his first Ayr runner of this term on Sunday, the Corby-ridden Clifton Miss.

Just over 24 hours later, the pair were back in the winner's enclosure as Michael's Missile (11-4) came good in division one of the Racing UK Handicap.

Things got even better as 11-8 favourite Elusive Gent made every post a winning one in the Today's Racing Just 10 With RacingUK Handicap.

Keatley, who trains a string of almost 20 horses, having previously had stints as assistant to Oliver McKiernan and leading Australia trainers Chris Waller and John O'Shea, is unsurprisingly keen to come back to Ayr later in the year.

He said: "We brought four horses over to Ayr and three have them have won, so we're delighted.

"I'm particularly delighted for Sean, who had a quiet enough time of things and had one or two weight issues at the start of the year.

"But things have picked up for him the last few weeks and we managed to get him a spare ride as well, so it's a good day.

"I was pretty hopeful for the Michael's Missile. The only slight worry was the ground as it was as dry as she'd want it. Six furlongs on soft ground would be ideal for her, I think.

"There are plenty of meetings coming up here and hopefully they might both come back here next month.

"We're just doing our best to compete and build up a bigger team of owners. Hopefully days like this will help."

The middle leg of Corby's treble came in the Racing UK Day Pass Handicap as Personal Touch provided new connections with a swift return on their recent investment.

The six-year-old won five times for Richard Fahey before being claimed by owner Martyn Elvin for £10,000 following victory at Wolverhampton last Monday.

Turning out just a week later and making his debut for Shropshire-based Heather Dalton, the 12-1 chance stuck to his guns under Corby to beat Rasaman by a length.

Candelisa (7-2) opened his account at the third attempt in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes, getting up by a short head in the hands of Graham Lee.

Winning trainer Jedd O'Keeffe said: "I think he's still improving and he'll appreciate softer ground. We're probably looking at nurseries, although he is a valuable race at Doncaster's Leger meeting in September.

"He'll have to progress to go there, obviously."

Trainer Jim Goldie and jockey Fergal Lynch also combined for a double.

Goninodaethat (3-1 joint-favourite) claimed a sixth course victory in the second division of the Racing UK Handicap, while 11-1 shot Braes Of Lochalsh won with something to spare in the Racing UK Anywhere Available Now Handicap.
