William Muir plans to let Big Baz take his chance in Saturday's Victoria Cup at Ascot.

Having shown useful form on the all-weather over the winter, the five-year-old made a pleasing return to action on the turf last month when finishing third behind Ayaar in the Spring Cup at Newbury.

The Lambourn handler said: "Big Baz will run in the Victoria Cup at Ascot. I was pleased with his run at Newbury as he was just beaten on the line for second.

"He ran well on Good Friday at Lingfield and would have definitely been fourth, if not third, had he not got stopped. He managed to across from stall 11 to the rail but once a big horse like that is stopped, it is race over.

"Although the tracks haven't suited him on the all-weather, he has run so well because of his class. We have always felt that he is better on turf though. He is in very good shape."
