Richard Fahey: Good Company

Our star columnist Richard Fahey provides an unmissable horse by horse guide to all of his runners on Sunday.

We’ve four runners at Newmarket on Sunday starting with Innocent Touch in the Qipco Supporting British Racing Stakes.

It’s a very open race but this is a horse I feel is capable of running well in a decent prize. He has no weight on his back and it will be interesting to see how he goes.

The Havana Gold Handicap also looks wide-open. Supplicant ran ok the other day at Pontefract when he just needed the run. This has been a target for him but he’d prefer easier ground and I’d hope some of the forecast rain arrives.

Eastern Impact runs in the same race and is in great order. He has to step up on what he did last year to win this but it’s perfectly feasible and we’re taking five pounds off with Jack Garrity’s claim to try and help him.

Brotherly Company is a horse who has progressed really well. He’s still quite immature but I was pleased with his win at Redcar. I’ve a sneaky feeling the Qatar Racing Handicap is a warm race and whatever wins will be a decent horse. Mine could just be one though.

Our other runners are at Hamilton where soft ground looks assured given the weather forecast.

Royal Connoisseur ran a blinder at Ripon last time but while he’s won with cut in the ground, I’m not sure it suits him ideally. He’s right on his A-game though going into the totepool Betting On All UK Racing Handicap.

We also run Chiswick Bey who is in great form and will absolutely love the ground. He could run very well too and I wouldn’t like to split my pair.

We’ve stuck a pair of blinkers on Hesketh Bank in the totepoolliveinfo.com Buttonhook Handicap as he’s been taking the mickey a bit. He’s another who’ll like the ground and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back.

Grandad’s World is a progressive young sprinter and is another who will be fine in the testing conditions. He must have a leading chance in the EBF Stallions Tangerine Trees Conditions Stakes.
