Leading Australian jockey Chad Schofield is to receive his first taste of riding in Britain on Sunday after being booked to partner Bahamian Heights at Newmarket.

The 21-year-old will get the leg-up on the Clive Brittain-trained four-year old in the Havanna Gold Handicap over six furlongs of the Rowley Mile.

Brittain said: "Australian jockeys are very good, but they are especially good sprint jockeys and this was a good opportunity to give Chad a ride.

"He has not been in to ride out for us but the horse is well. When I have gone to Australia they have always been very helpful to me and this is my chance to give something back."

Despite only having been riding since 2010, Schofield, who is to spend a three-month spell in Britain based with Ed Dunlop, has a host of big-race wins to his name.

Schofield shot to prominence in 2013 when claiming the Cox Plate aboard the Danny O'Brien-trained Shamus Award.
