A review of the rest of the action from the Curragh where Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning stole the show.

Mimicking led home a one-two for trainer Jim Bolger in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at the Curragh.

The daughter of Invincible Spirit had to race wide from her stall one draw in the early stages but was produced by Kevin Manning to lead just inside the final furlong.

Mimicking (2-1 favourite) strode away to beat her stablemate, Ard San Aer, who was always prominent, by a length and three-quarters.

Hoppala made progress from the rear to take third place in a field of seven newcomers.

Bolger said: "Kevin was very happy with her. She could go for the Marble Hill (at the Curragh next month) and maybe (Royal) Ascot.

"She was a little bit green but was on her own out there, and I thought she did it well from the stall she was in.

The former Eve Johnson Houghton-trained Penny Pepper (5-1) opened her account on her debut for Kevin Prendergast in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

Penny Pepper had finished second in both of her starts in England and wasted no time in getting off the mark on her reappearance.

She hit the front over a furlong out under Chris Hayes and went on to win by two and a half lengths from Countess Constance.

Prendergast said: "She was in training in England last year and I have had her since January. Hopefully she can get some black type. She travelled nicely and was a little bit fresh.

"I trained the dam (Evening Time) and she was quite good."

Hayes went on to complete a double on Papa's Way (9-2) in the Clongowes Wood College Bicentenary Handicap.

"Chris had him rolling down the hill and got them on the stretch. He's riding out of his skin at the moment," said trainer Paul Deegan.

In Salutem (11-1) came through strongly in the final furlong to seal victory in the Cunninghams of Kildare Handicap trainer Ken Condon and jockey Shane Foley.

Master Speaker led briefly after Cash Or Casualty had taken them along before being cut down In Salutem made his winning run towards the rail to win by a length and three-quarters. Cash or Casualty rallied for third, another length away.

Condon said: "He ran plenty last year and finished off the year well at Navan. In his younger days we always thought he wanted faster ground but as he's got older he seems to appreciate a bit of ease.

"He leads some of our smart fillies at home like Newsletter. The ability is there but like a lot of sprinters there are good days and bad days.

"With a penalty for that he'll get into all the good sprint handicaps like the Paddy Power and the Rockingham."

Aidan O'Brien took the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden with the yard's alleged second string, the debutant Sandro Botticelli (11-1), ridden by Seamie Heffernan.
