Bishop Wulstan is likely to take up his entry in the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham next Wednesday, as long as he makes the cut.
Trained by Harry Whittington for Middleham Park Racing, he won for the second time over hurdles at Newbury last Friday.
The 5lb penalty he picked up for that two-lengths success now gives him a chance of making the final field.
"He'll run as long as he is fresh and well," said Oxfordshire-based Whittington.
"We'll just see how he is when we freshen him up.
"I don't think he'd have got in if he hadn't won, so it was the last chance, really."
